Invisible Internet - function, measurement and meaning

Objectives

  • Review about different parts of the invisible internet in the field of RTD
  • Analyse the different types of data available through the invisible web
  • Estimate the academic and R&D share of the invisible Web
  • Make a quantitative analysis of the visibility and popularity of the invisible internet

Description of work/methodology

Ways to obtain information about the invisible internet will include the sampling of the directories of databases and asking search engines for pages from academic domains with active suffix (php or asp), question marks (cgi-bin), page description formats (pdf, ps) or other special (phtml, shtml).

From the data obtained a sample will be extracted to scan level of connectivity with and from other web sites, including specially analysis from direct (long urls) links and a domain analysis too.
